Our Hosting team manages and supports the infrastructure of all our platforms, from hardware to software, to operating systems to PowerSchool products. This collaborative team helps meet the needs of an evolving technology and business model with a specialized focus on protecting customer data and keeping information secure.

Description

This position, under the general direction of the Manager or Technical Lead, Cloud Operations, will be responsible for supporting cloud customers and be responsible, at varying levels, for networking and firewall infrastructure and configuration, continuous systems analysis, technical customer support, and systems administration for the SaaS server technologies used in a multi-cloud environment.

• Troubleshoot networking and firewall issues and engage Customer Support as needed to identify and resolve the issue 
• Monitor and troubleshoot networking and firewall issues to ensure high availability, optimal performance and system responsiveness 
• Periodic reviews of network and firewall security in cloud-based environments 
• Perform daily system administration tasks to verify that all systems are up and running 
• Complete periodic networking and firewall infrastructure updates based on changing cloud platforms and/or best practice 
• Perform root cause analysis for production issues where the root cause is in networking and firewall infrastructure; understand when to escalate to product development teams; remediate root causes and implement preventative actions 
• Participate in after-hours maintenance when necessary, respond to emergencies, participate in customer calls when called upon in support of initiatives and incident response 

Minimum Qualifications

• 5-7 years’ experience supporting cloud-based networking and firewall infrastructure 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent degree required 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with networking and associated infrastructure technologies and cloud computing techniques (Azure/AWS)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with Cloud based networking such as VPC, VNET, Load Balancing, DNS, VPNs, Security Groups, and Firewalls (AWS/Azure, Azure App Gateway, Fortigate, Barracuda, F5, Imperva, CloudFlare, Palo Alto) 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with network security technologies and implementation thereof 

• Minimum 5 years’ experience configuring and securing cloud-based storage solutions (S3/Azure Files) 

• Knowledge of N-tier multi and single tenant applications and services 

• Ability to handle a heavy workload with multiple projects and frequent interruptions 

• Ability to work in a changing, dynamic environment
