Overview

This position, under the general direction of the Lead and/or Manager, Software Engineering, will be
responsible for technical and development support for our award-winning K-12 software. This role will
implement, code, build, and test new features, maintain existing features, and develop reports that will
include components, data models, customization and reporting features for our products. Additionally, this
position will gather and refine requirements, develop designs, implement, test and document solutions to
produce the highest quality product and customer satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

- Work as part of an Agile SCRUM team in the planning, scoping, estimation and execution of technical
solutions
- Learns about existing applications, architecture and functionality and asks questions to learn about
these
- Participates in team level discussions such as refinement and planning meetings, understand stories,
bugs presented by other senior members and asks questions towards getting better understanding of
these requirements. Helps team in finding unknowns and doing better estimations of upcoming work.
- Converts problems into program. Comes up with basic designs and learns through reviews
performed by other senior members in the team
- Writes efficient and clean code for building large scale data and web applications
- Pays attention to performance and optimal algorithms and proactively raised questions towards
scalability of the code written
- Writes automated unit tests and secure code. Writes code that is easy to debug, fix and enhance in
future by yourself and other team members.
- Proactively raises flags whenever encounters a situation that can be vulnerable proactively
- Has good in person and virtual presence during business hours.
- Is available on demand for critical situation as planned by senior members in advance
- Raises voice and puts up healthy debates towards improving existing processes that lead to higher
efficiencies for team
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- 2+ years’ experience in software engineer role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technologies with evidences of significant
coding projects done yourself during engineering period is required
- Experience with agile development methodologies, continuous integration, and version control
systems such as Git or SVN.
- Has done enough hands on programming both on front end and back end technologies and has built
end to end applications at personal or small scale
- Has learned from past work towards building robust and defensive applications with focus on
optimizations and security
